Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcak.

Welcoming Lajcak’s visit to Armenia, Pashinyan attached importance to the opening of the embassy of Slovakia in Armenia and stated that Armenia is interested in the development of cooperation with Slovakia in the bilateral format and within the framework of the European Union.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Slovakia’s balanced position on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and conveyed his warm greetings to Prime Minister of Slovakia Peter Pallegrin.

Lajcak stated that Armenia is a key partner for Slovakia and that the opening of the embassy of Slovakia in Armenia will create good opportunities for intensification of the bilateral ties. He emphasized that Slovakia, as an EU member state, is ready to assist Armenia in the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the liberalization of visas. Touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs mentioned that Slovakia fully supports the efforts for a peaceful settlement within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

Pashinyan and Lajcak also exchanged views on the cooperation within the scope of the Eastern Partnership Plan and touched upon the latest developments within the framework of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
