Milan has declared a state of emergency due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Armenian News-NEWS.am’s correspondent reports that supermarkets are mainly empty since people have made wholesale purchases so that they stay at home more.

The locals and tourists are trying not to use public transportation or go to crowded places. In essence, there is no city life. The schools and universities and public places in Milan and other cities in northern Italy are closed, and cultural and sporting events have been postponed for an uncertain period.

The famous La Scala has no performances either. Based on the latest data, there are 224 people infected in Italy (most of them are in Lombardy), and 7 have died.
