YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Secretary General Marija Pejcinovic Buric of the Council of Europe (CoE), on the margins of the 43rd Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, in Geneva, Switzerland.

The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation within the framework of Armenia and CoE, the Armenian Foreign Ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of the effective dialogue and cooperation between Armenia and the CoE.

Opinions were exchanged on joint efforts to tackle the challenges of strengthening democracy in Europe and on the efforts to be undertaken increase the effectiveness of the work of the CoE.

Touching upon the achievements and shortcomings in human rights, Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized the universal nature of human rights and their protection and promotion throughout the European continent, including in the conflict zones.

Also, Mnatsakanyan presented to Buric the agenda of democratic reforms launched by the government of Armenia.
