During a briefing today, Minister of Healthcare of Georgia Yekaterina Tikaradze and Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Amiran Gamkrelidze declared that Georgia has recorded the first case of coronavirus, reports Novosti-Georgia.

The infected person is about 50 years old. He and his friend took a trip to Iran for a week. Yesterday, the man returned to Georgia through Azerbaijan, and his symptoms were detected on the border. Currently, the man is in quarantine at the Infections Diseases, AIDS and Clinical Immunology Research Center in Tbilisi.
