YEREVAN. – Bilateral cooperation, in particular within the framework of the activities of the joint Armenian-Russian group of the troops, is also an important component of ensuring regional security. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said this at a roundtable discussion, entitled "The Role of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Ensuring Security in the Caucasus Region."

According to him, the CSTO has accumulated great potential to respond to all kinds of security threats, and this year Russia's task is to strengthen its existing potential. "This year, Russia has another task: to ensure a worthy celebration of the anniversary of the Great Victory [in World War II]," he said. "It is known that in Armenia they are very attentive to the topic of the Victory, and I am sure that such treatment will be reflected on the busy agenda of the celebration of its anniversary."
