YEREVAN. – There is an activeness of non-Armenian NGOs in Armenia, whose activities have nothing to do with maintaining peace at all. Belarusian Ambassador Igor Nazaruk, said this at a roundtable discussion in Yerevan, and entitled "The Role of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Ensuring Security in the Caucasus Region."

He noted that this issue is important in the sense that the Caucasus is a complex region where the interests of major world players clash. According to the ambassador, the CSTO factor is important not only for ensuring the security of the Caucasus, but also for the western borders of this organization.

The Belarusian envoy attached importance to the increase of cooperation within the CSTO so as not to allow the member states to be divided into small territories, as it happened with former Yugoslavia.
