Armenian special investigation service (SIS) for the third time sent a criminal case to Armenian parliament’s ex-speaker Ara Babloyan and former parliament’s deputy chief of staff Arsen Babayan to the prosecutor general’s office, said SIS spokesperson Marina Ohanjanyan.

The Prosecutor General’s Office did not confirm the indictment in the case of Babloyan and Babayan and sent it to the SUS for an additional investigation, noting that it did not agree with the qualification of the act. According to the prosecutor’s office, charges should be brought for abuse of power.

As reported earlier, the charges brought against officials have been modified. Thus, the two are charged with abuse of official authority that caused grave consequences and with entering obviously false data or records into official documentation, forgery or altering, by a state official, out of mercenary, personal individual or group interests, as well as creation of or providing false documents.
