YEREVAN. – It is wrong to say that the 13 cases of the deaths of soldiers in the army were an unfortunate incident. Armenia’s Deputy Defense Minister Gabriel Balayan stated this today commenting on the recent resignations in the army in connection with the increase in the deaths of servicemen.

The deputy minister assured that, according to the information he received, some of these servicemen had died from illness, not from unfortunate incidents, and that this needs to be clearly distinguished.

"There is a corresponding wording for every death," Balayan said. “The conclusions in connection with the deaths of the military are numerous; one of them is the dismissals.”

He added that the service of some officials was deemed unsatisfactory.
