Alibaba founder Jack Ma has become the richest man in Asia, leaving behind Indian energy tycoon Mukesh Ambani.

Ma now ranked first with a $44.5 billion fortune, about $2.6 billion more than Ambani, Bloomberg reported. 

Alibaba was founded in 1999 and is considered one of the largest organizations in the world engaged in e-commerce and digital payments.
