Abkhazia is closing its border with Russia due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the decree has been signed by acting President Valeri Bganba.

“Starting from April 8 (12 a.m.) until April 20 (12 a.m.), there shall be restrictions on the state border between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation. Only employees of diplomatic institutions, servicemen and drivers of vehicles transporting international cargo can cross the border,” the decree reads.
