Three people were injured in a Toronto shooting, one of them - a young man - subsequently died in a hospital, CBC reported.

The other two injured are in hospital now, but their lives are already in danger. The identity of the deceased and the victims are not revealed.

According to Toronto police chief Mark Saunders, law enforcement officers looked at recordings from street surveillance cameras and came to the conclusion that it was a "targeted situation."

"The bottom line is, there's a lot of evidence that we have gleaned so far," Saunders said on Tuesday. "We know we are getting more evidence, particularly by way of video."

According to Saunders, a vehicle waited at the scene for about 40 minutes for the occupants of another vehicle to arrive.

Eyewitnesses said they heard six or seven shots.
