SpaceX is ready to launch two NASA astronauts into orbit on May 27.

The flight is scheduled for 4:33 pm local time from the Kennedy Space Center, where the last US space shuttle departed back in 2011, AP reported.

“This is a big moment in time,” NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said on the eve of the launch. “It’s been nine years since we’ve had this opportunity.”

The launch is carried out by SpaceX - the first private company to put astronauts into orbit, which only three countries have achieved - Russia, the US and China.

Astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Benken will be delivered to the ISS on the SpaceX Dragon spaceship.

“We are ready!” Behnken tweeted Tuesday night.
