The new state program to combat the spread of coronavirus will begin to be implemented in the UK this Thursday.

According to health secretary Matt Hancock, they will be the first in the kingdom to identify people who may be infected by monitoring their contacts, TASS reported.

One of the key elements of the Test and trace program was to be a special app, but so far it is only being tested on the Isle of Wight.

Under the new rules, anyone in the UK who tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to provide the authorities with a detailed report of who he has been in close contact with over the past week.

These people will be informed that they must self-isolate for 14 days and order a COVID-19 test in case of any coronavirus symptoms.

As PM Boris Johnson noted on Wednesday, thanks to the sacrifices that a relatively small number of Britons will have to make, the rest will be returning to normal life.
