TEHRAN. – Armenia’s Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan met with Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh.

The embassy of Armenia in Iran informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that during the meeting, Ambassador Tumanyan noted that the construction of the third high-voltage power line, which will allow full use of the capacity of the Iran-Armenia natural gas pipeline by increasing several times the amount of natural gas being imported to Armenia from Iran and of electricity being imported to Iran from Armenia, will be completed within the year.

The Armenian diplomat added, in particular, that if this work is properly organized, the Iran-Armenia natural gas pipeline may beneficially differ from Iran's joint gas pipelines with some other neighboring countries in terms of reliability and efficiency, which can be an additional impetus for deepening bilateral cooperation in this domain.

The interlocutors also touched upon the avenues toward the further intensification of trade between Armenia and Iran.
