Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan today met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Artur Tovmasyan.

Mirzoyan greeted the newly elected parliamentary speaker of Artsakh and expressed certainty that Tovmasyan will work more effectively as the new head of parliament and that this will highly benefit the parliaments of both Armenia and Artsakh.

Tovmasyan touched upon the importance of the inter-parliamentary committee on cooperation between the parliaments of Armenia and Artsakh and the cooperation of the standing committees. “Artsakh will be secure, if there is stability in Armenia and if the Diaspora is powerful. We will definitely succeed, if all Armenians support the solutions to the issues related to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh, recognition of the Armenian Genocide and security,” he said.

In his turn, Mirzoyan highly appreciated the current level of inter-parliamentary cooperation and added that all issues can and must be solved through combined efforts. “Armenia and Artsakh are parts of the same homeland, and we need to proceed with a common agenda,” Mirzoyan said.
