Cyprus has accelerated the lifting of most of the remaining restrictions amid the low infection rate since quarantine had been cancelled, AP reported.

Health Minister Constantinos Ioannou said on Wednesday that the third phase of the gradual lifting of restrictions in the country will be completed on June 24, and not on July 14.

This means that from June 9, shopping centers, airports. and domestic recreation areas of hotels, bars, and restaurants, open-air theaters, and cinemas will reopen. Sports events without spectators, kindergartens, playgrounds, summer schools will resume their businesses as well.

The restriction on public meetings of 10 people will be valid until at least June 24.

Cinemas and theaters are expected to open in early August, and music concerts, festivals, weddings, and baptisms, as well as graduation ceremonies, will be allowed from September 1.

To date, there are 952 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 17 deaths in Cyprus.
