During a briefing held after the session of the Commandant’s Office today, Chief of Police of Armenia Arman Sargsyan touched upon the events that took place at Meymandari produce market yesterday and declared that over 30 citizens have been taken to police stations or detained.

“The incident has become widely popular, and a huge event took place at the market in Gai village where citizens didn’t want to follow the requirements of the Commandant’s decision and committed a hooligan act. The Police of Armenia instituted a criminal case under elements of a particular article of the Criminal Code and transmitted the case to the Investigative Committee,” the police chief reported.
