YEREVAN. – This is a vivid proof of the fact that the problem in the judicial system of the Republic of Armenia needs to be resolved as soon as possible. Deputy speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated this in a talk with journalists in the NA Thursday, referring to the fact that the Criminal Court of Appeal has overturned the first instance court decision to arrest Mikael Minasyan, Armenia’s former ambassador to the Vatican.

"This shows that the claims made by various colleagues standing here that perhaps this is not the time, are in vain, The issue of the judicial system must be resolved as soon as possible. The laws passed these days are aimed at that; that will be solved, too. (…) the process of recovery of the judicial system is taking place, but it must take place once and for all. (…) there is sabotage that in various bodies, however, they try—on the account of money, on the account of lies—to obstruct, stop; they even manipulate this situation with the coronavirus. They stop at nothing, and they will not stop to save their millions. We need to find solutions according to the situation. It is very difficult, but we must move forward," Simonyan added.
