There can’t be any standard recipe or prescription for a citizen infected with COVID-19 to use before a doctor arrives. This is what Minister of Health of Armenia Arsen Torosyan said during a briefing held after the session of the Commandant’s Office today, responding to a media outlet’s question if there is a drug that a citizen can take when the local paramedics say they don’t have time to visit the patient due to the large number of patients.

“Citizens are individuals, and the treatment needs to be provided by a doctor. There are cases when people read about a particular drug in the presses, buy it from a pharmacy and use it to not contract the coronavirus. However, I officially announce that no drug can prevent a person from contracting the virus,” the minister said, adding that the Ministry of Health will be sending guidelines that doctors can use when providing patients with treatment.
