Brazil has become the third country in the world in the total number of deaths from COVID-19 - more than 34 thousand people - almost one and a half thousand people died in a day hitting a new record, Euronews reported.

President Jair Bolsonaro keeps comparing COVID-19 with flu, refusing to quarantine and criticizing local authorities that have used isolation measures. The Brazilian leader said these will lead to an economic crisis.

But, nevertheless, unemployment has already affected almost 13% of the employable population; experts believe by the end of the year it will reach 18%.
