The Armenian Holy Virgin Monastery, which is located in Van Province of Turkey, continues to be targeted by treasure hunters.

Turkish state-run TRT drew the attention of those in charge to the matter of preserving this historical Armenian religious complex, and talked to both locals and Mehmet Top, a lecturer at the Department of Arts of Van Yuzunci Yil [(Centennial)] University.

Top noted that treasure hunters continue to demolish this monastery complex, which was built by the Armenians during the Ottoman era.
