Amir-Hossein Zamaninia, deputy oil minister, has been officially appointed Iran’s representative to OPEC, Reuters reported.

According to Shana, the decision was made during the OPEC 179th online meeting.

Zamaninia was appointed acting representative of OPEC after the death of former Iranian representative Hossein Kazempour Ardebili.

Ardebili died on May 16 from a brain hemorrhage two weeks after falling into a coma.
