Armenian citizens of Russia trying to leave for Russia have been standing at the Bagratashen border checkpoint for the past two weeks now.

Ashot Jilavyan, one of the citizens, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that tomorrow he will go to Yerevan to request a meeting at the Embassy of Russia and raise his and the other citizens’ issue. The citizens of Armenia hoped to receive news about some progress from the Embassy of Russia in Armenia before Tuesday, but the Embassy’s representatives only reported that Russia is still holding talks with Georgia…

“We have been here for two weeks. The people are in a situation that they can’t get out of. We’re still holding on. We have no other option,” he stated.

Over 100 Armenian citizens of Russia have been trying to return to Russia for a couple of months now. They have held demonstrations in front of the Embassy of Russia in Armenia and have been standing at Bagratashen border checkpoint for the past two weeks.
