The third and final memorial service for George Floyd will take place on Monday, CNN reported.

In turn, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin will face trial exactly two weeks after the murder.

"Chauvin has been fired and charged with second-degree murder. Three other officers were charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter," CNN noted.

"George Floyd and his family are safely in Houston," Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo tweeted.

According to him, it was "a big deal for our city to bring him back home."

"He's well known, he's known by a lot of our officers. We want to make sure that the family is safe, that the movement is safe. We want to make sure that the family knows that we're here for them and we support them at this time."
