A Turkish court has jailed a prominent opposition journalist on "military and political espionage," Reuters reported referring to the Anadolu.

Muyesser Yildiz, the Ankara news editor for the OdaTV online news portal, was detained on Monday. She was officially arrested on Thursday after interrogation.

The representative of the TELE1 television company, Ismail Dukel, who was also detained along with Yildiz, was released.

OdaTV, an online news outlet, has criticized the government of President Tayyip Erdogan.
