At this moment, the government’s call is to observe the anti-epidemic rules. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated during a briefing held after the session of the Commandant’s Office today, touching upon the comment that the health minister yesterday called on citizens to not visit cafes and restaurants since their visits put the latter in a difficult situation.

In essence, Pashinyan disagreed with Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan and stated the following: “The government is just calling on citizens to observe the rules. We need to understand our colleagues of the healthcare system since they have been going out of their way and have had a very heavy workload for months.

Today, there are people who are blaming the healthcare system for many things in regard to the epidemiological situation, but I would like to say that the healthcare system is not the one that has to fight against the spread of the epidemic. The healthcare system is fighting against the consequences of the spread. The more patients there are, the harder the healthcare system has to work. Anti-epidemic rules can either be observed or not observed in restaurants, even in daily life.”
