YEREVAN. - Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on Monday had a telephone conversation with Philip Reeker, Acting Assistant Secretary of European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia press office reported.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the problems caused by the coronavirus and the steps being taken to resolve them. In this context, Minister Mnatsakanyan thanked the US Government for its respective financial assistance to Armenia.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Philip Reeker touched also upon a number of issues on the bilateral agenda.

The Armenian Foreign Minister and the American Acting Assistant Secretary of State exchanged views on the reforms being implemented by the Armenian government. In this context, Minister Mnatsakanyan praised the support provided by the United States.

During the conversation, they also touched upon cooperation in the readmission of citizens. The acting US official said that the US Department of Homeland Security has removed Armenia from the list of risky countries in this regard and put it on the list of cooperating countries on issues of readmission of citizens.

Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the programs initiated by Armenia to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of religious and ethnic minorities in the Middle East.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Philip Reeker also discussed a number of issues of international and regional importance.

The Armenian Foreign Minister and the US Acting Assistant Secretary of European and Eurasian Affairs exchanged views on the latest developments in the process of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict.
