Turkey imports jihadists into war-torn Libya, French President Emmanuel Macron said calling Ankara’s intervention criminal.

According to him, the government of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan massively imports jihadists from Syria, Reuters reported.

“I think it’s a historic and criminal responsibility for a country which claims to be a NATO member,” Macron noted.

Tensions between Turkey and France have intensified after June 10's incident in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, when France claimed that Turkish frigates displayed extreme aggression against a French warship.
