Deputy of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Arman Abovyan has posted the following on his Facebook page:

“Without exaggerating, Armenia is in a very dire situation.

The negative processes surrounding Amulsar are rather serious, there is a large-scale public protest against the plunder on the part of banks, more and more people are complaining about the increase of property taxes, more and more people are being laid off every day, travel agencies and other companies in the service sector aren’t doing business, small and medium-sized businesses are failing, relations with allied countries are becoming tense, Turkey is taking more and more anti-Armenian actions with its domestic and foreign policies, Azerbaijan is overtly preparing for an attack (we will talk about this separately), the Constitution of Armenia is now an incomprehensible and illegitimate ‘paper’, the fight against the coronavirus is a failure, etc.

Of course, I understand that, on the one hand, the state of emergency is simply a lifesaver for the authorities because it allows them to sharply restrict the freedom of people to protest, and on the otherhand, the authorities continue their populist, demagogic, obscene and aggressive legal and informational campaign against the largest opposition party (obviously the Prosperous Armenia Party) and anyone who dares to speak out about the humiliating situation in the country.

Question: Do the authorities at least understand the gravest consequences that the country will face, or they care less about the people and are persistently leading the country to a precipice?”
