The Parisian Louvre Museum reopened on Monday after 4-month closing amid the COVID-19 pandemic, AP reported.

About 70% of the museum is again accessible to visitors. However, visitors must wear masks, and the number of visitors will be limited, with reservations required.

The Louvre, which is the most visited museum in the world, lost over EUR 40 million due to the pandemic.

According to the museum, about 70% of its visitors in 2019 were foreign tourists.

As Jean-Luc Martinez, the museum director noted, this year the museum loses 80% of its visitors.
