The ruling My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia has placed into circulation the bill on making supplements and an amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Armenia, as reported on the website of the National Assembly of Armenia.

By the proposed amendments, violating the requirements for wearing masks in open public spaces during the state of emergency declared on the ground of emergency situation shall entail imposition of a fine in the amount of twenty-fold of the fixed minimum salary (AMD 20,000).

In addition, violating the requirements for wearing masks in closed spaces that are residential areas, as well as on public transport and in the workplace during the state of emergency declared on the ground of emergency situation shall entail imposition of a fine in the amount of fifty-fold of the fixed minimum salary (AMD 50,000).

Violating the designated acts again within a year after the administrative penalty is imposed shall entail imposition of a fine in the amount of two-fold of the fines designated for the given acts.

It is expected that adoption of the bill will make it possible to prevent the cases of not wearing masks or wearing them the wrong way and implement the proceedings under cases regarding violation of the rules of the legal regime of state of emergency promptly.
