Israeli authorities impose strict quarantine measures amid a spike in COVID-19 cases, the BBC reported.

Bars, sports clubs, night clubs, pools, and event halls are subject to immediate closure. The number of visitors in restaurants should not exceed 20 people inside and 30 on terraces. Only 19 people are allowed to be inside synagogues.

According to PM Benjamin Netanyahu, the country is close to a repeated full lockdown. In the last few days, Israel has confirmed nearly 1,000 COVID-19 cases daily - this is more than during the pandemic peak in March-April.
