The Yerevan court of general jurisdiction has upheld the motion filed by an investigator of the National Security Service of Armenia and arrested former deputy of the Tsarukyan parliamentary faction Vanik Asatryan under a case of commission of an electoral fraud in 2017, as reported Head of the Press Center of the National Security Service Artur Gevorgyan.

Former MP Abraham Manukyan has also been arrested under the case of electoral fraud.

Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan has also been involved as an accused-on-trial under the case.

Tsarukyan is charged with obstructing the will of voters through electoral fraud, but doesn’t accept the charge and views the case against him as unlawful.
