YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday held a secret ballot to elect a new member to the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) of Armenia.

Vahagn Hovakimyan, Chairman of the NA Counting Commission and member of the majority My Step faction in parliament, reminded that the government had nominated Karen Sedrakyan for the vacant position of SCPEC member, and who had held that position in the past, too.

A total of 86 out of the 132 MPs took part in the secret ballot, 80 of them voted for Sedrakyan, whereas 6 others—against.
