Turkish authorities plan to use special lighting equipment, in which case the Christian mosaics and frescoes will not be visible during the Muslim prayer services to be conducted in Hagia Sophia, in Istanbul, Hurriyet reported.

The presidential administration is already carrying out preparations to hold the first Muslim prayer service in Hagia Sophia on July 24.

They are also considering simply covering these mosaics and frescoes with curtains during the Muslim prayer services there.

It is also assumed to create special corridors for tourists in order for them to be able to visit Hagia Sophia, but without stepping on the carpets of the Muslim prayer services, MC reported.

To note, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made a decision according to which the Hagia Sophia Christian church, which had been turned into a museum, has now been turned into a mosque. The move, however, has drawn widespread criticism in the civilized world.
