Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the coordinator of the Platform for Armenian Refugees initiative group Artur Ghazaryan.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the International Center for Human Development Tevan Poghosyan, MFA reported.

Artur Ghazaryan presented the goals of the formation and the working programs of the Platform for Armenian Refugees initiative group. He noted that the purpose of forming the organization is to hear the voices of refugees, to voice the problems they face, and to work in a coordinated way to address these problems.

Mnatsakanyan highlighted the importance of the initiative to unite the Armenian refugees as a platform for presenting their problems.

According to the minister, Armenia faced the refugee issue even before the declaration of independence, when it received the first wave of refugees from Sumgait, Kirovabad, Baku, and other cities of Azerbaijan.
