Armenia’s minister of defense Davit Tonoyan on Monday had a telephone conversation with Mrs. Zeina Akar Adra, Minister of National Defense and Deputy Prime Minister of Lebanon.

First, the Armenian defense minister congratulated his counterpart on the 75th anniversary of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the coronavirus-related epidemic situation in the armies of the two countries and exchanged views on cooperating to create additional opportunities.

Akar Adra stressed the importance of the Armenian Armed Forces division’s participation in the UN’s UNIFIL mission in Lebanon, in response to which the Armenian minister of defense reaffirmed Armenia’s determination to continue partaking in this mission.

Davit Tonoyan and Zeina Akar Adra also touched upon regional politico-military developments, and the need to expand and deepen military cooperation within the framework of bilateral agreements.
