The Chinese company Shanghai Zhizhen Intelligent Network Technology, also known as Xiao-i and specializing in artificial intelligence solutions, has filed a lawsuit against Apple, accusing it of patent infringement, Reuters reported.

Xiao-i is demanding that Apple pay 10 billion yuan ($ 1.43 billion) in damages and stop producing, using, promising to sell, selling, and importing products that infringe on the patent, the Chinese company said on social media.

Xiao-i claims that Apple's Siri voice recognition technology is infringing on a patent that the Chinese company applied for in 2004 and received in 2009.

The lawsuit marks the continuation of the confrontation that began almost ten years ago.

Shanghai Zhizhen first sued Apple in 2012 for patent infringement on voice recognition technology.
