Turkish parliament speaker Mustafa Sentop spoke out against US sanctions on Iran amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Tasnim reported.

His remarks came during phone talks with his Iranian counterpart Bagher Ghalibaf.

“We are opposed to these sanctions and have made it clear in all international organizations,” Sentop noted.

The parties expressed their determination to expand cooperation between the two countries in all areas.

In turn, the speaker of the Iranian parliament highlighted the need to intensify trade and economic ties between the countries in accordance with protocols in the health care, to prevent further economic damage.
