Lebanon conducts needs analysis for the Armenian community.

Early in the morning, the office of the Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs and personally the Chief Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan contacted representatives of the Armenian community of Lebanon, the office reported.

They contacted representatives of dozens of spiritual, educational, medical, charitable, and media organizations, as well as with the Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Vahagn Atabekyan to make a preliminary assessment of the situation and needs of Armenians in Beirut.

According to the information received from the community, it currently has the following basic needs: medicines (especially for the chronically ill), basic food and water, financial support for the renovation of apartments, shops, churches, community centers in the Armenian-populated areas of the city, repatriation, namely, facilitating the process of voluntary return of compatriots to their homeland.

Community representatives also highlighted the need to provide psychological support to people.

Community leaders noted that they are also conducting needs assessments and that they need some time to finalize the situation.
