Armenians have called on president and PM to assist the Lebanese Armenians, Lebanese Armenian Nelly Taschyan Dermedjian told during candlelight ceremony on Republic Square in Yerevan (PHOTOS).

"We have returned to our homeland. The world heard yesterday about the tragedy in Lebanon, many want to help the Lebanese people, especially the Armenians," she noted. "We call on the President, the Prime Minister of Armenia to help the Lebanese Armenians, many of whom want to return to their homeland, but cannot."

Beirut blast left at least 135 people dead and about 5,000 were injured. Lebanon declared three days of mourning, Beirut was declared a natural disaster zone.
