After the explosion in the port of Beirut, the superpowers are obligated to assist the people of Lebanon, as it concerns the future of the country, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a special conference of the sponsors.

Macron noted that the respective international response should be coordinated by the UN. "Our task today is to act quickly and efficiently, to coordinate there so that this aid reaches the Lebanese as soon as possible," the French president said.

According to him, the offer of assist includes an impartial, reliable, and independent investigation of Tuesday’s explosion.
