YEREVAN. – The Republic of Armenia (RA) citizens’ opportunity to enter other countries, including for tourism purposes, then the definition of such an opportunity is in the field of legal regulations of a particular country, and, as a rule, it depends on the dynamics of the spread of the COVID-19 infection and the epidemiological situation in other countries this; deputy prime minister Tigran Avinyan noted about at Wednesday’s special sitting of the National Assembly, referring to the Armenian citizens who want to go abroad, but face certain respective problems due to the closed borders.

"Opening the borders is not only a matter for the decision of the RA government. Discussions are currently underway with the Russian Federation on the matter of air transportation of passengers. [But] there are no discussions yet, with either Georgia or Iran, on the matter of the opening of land the borders; the same [respective] regime and restrictions are still observed," added Avinyan, who is also commandant of the current state of emergency in Armenia due to the COVID-19 situation in the country.
