Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Suren Papikyan today introduced the personnel of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant to newly appointed Executive Director Eduard Martirosyan.

“The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant plays a weighty role in Armenia’s economy and particularly the energy sector. Taking into consideration the strategic importance of the nuclear power plant, I fully hope Mr. Martirosyan will use his longstanding experience in the national security sector to help increase effectiveness and reliability of the nuclear power plant in the best way,” Papikyan said and wished Martirosyan success.

In his turn, Martirosyan extended thanks for the trust and expressed certainty that he will justify the trust by working with the top specialists in the energy sector.

Minister Papikyan touched upon the future actions to repair and upgrade the nuclear power plant, particularly the organizing of procurement and repair works through government funding and internal procedures for the first time ever. The minister added that the nuclear power plant has also undergone structural changes, that is, the positions of executive director and first deputy director have been added.

In early June, President of Armenia signed decrees on the dismissals of Director of the National Security Service Eduard Martirosyan, Chief of Police Arman Sargsyan and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Artak Davtyan, accepting as a basis the recommendations of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
