As of yesterday, 40,794 people infected with the novel coronavirus were registered in Armenia, of which 1,040 died. Karen Vrtanesyan, coordinator of Razminfo website, noted this in a Facebook post.

"In Georgia, 1,319 infected people, 17 of whom died.

About 180 thousand [COVID-19] tests have been done in Armenia during this whole period.

And in Georgia—283 thousand PCR tests and 180 thousand rapid tests.

Moreover, out of those 283 thousand tests, the drivers of trucks entering the country were checked with the 54 thousand; the virus has been confirmed in 788 of them.

"Just think that we [Armenia] could have avoided thousands of infections if the required number of tests had been performed in time in Armenia," Vrtanesyan added, in particular.
