The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, as well as the next incoming chairman, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde, appealed to the Belarusian authorities to organize a visit, Sputnik-Belarus reported referring to the OSCE press service.

The organization noted that they are closely monitoring the situation in the republic and believe that an open and constructive dialogue is necessary to get out of the current situation.

The OSCE also noted the urgent need for full compliance with OSCE principles and commitments, including the promotion and protection of fundamental freedoms and human rights, as well as respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Belarus.

Rama also expressed concern about the conditions of the elections, which the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights was unable to observe, as well as the use of force against peaceful protesters, mass detentions and brutal behavior of law enforcement agencies.
