The IAEA and Iran have agreed to further strengthen cooperation and mutual trust to facilitate the full implementation of Iran's Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and the Additional Protocol thereto, which have been temporarily applied by Iran since January 16, 2016, the IAEA and Iran said in a statement.

According to it, after intensive bilateral consultations, Iran and the IAEA have reached an agreement to resolve in good faith the implementation of the IAEA safeguards. In this regard, Iran is voluntarily granting the IAEA access to two of the Agency's designated sites and is facilitating verification activities to address these issues. Access and inspection dates agreed.

In this context, based on the analysis of available information, the IAEA has no additional questions to Iran and no further requests for access to places other than those declared by Iran in its Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and the Additional Protocol.

Both parties recognize that the independence, impartiality, and professionalism of the IAEA continue to be critical in carrying out its verification activities.

The IAEA will continue to take Iran's security concerns into account by protecting all confidential safeguards information in accordance with the IAEA Statute, relevant Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and the Additional Protocol provisions, and established confidentiality regimes, standards and procedures.
