During my pre-election meetings, I have stated many times that we will pay great attention to the development of the sheep-breeding sector of agriculture. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) President Arayik Haroutyunyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"According to experts, it has great prospects in Artsakh, and the number [of sheep] can be increased to more than five hundred thousand [in Artsakh].

In this regard, I would like to state that the first important step in that direction has been taken in Artsakh, and more than ten thousand (…) sheep will soon be in the Republic. According to the announcement, they will be given to all the farmers who will ensure the minimum conditions proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The start is given. For the next five years, high-quality native-breed sheep will be continuously imported with state funds. Our overall success will depend on the knowledgeable and compassionate approach of every [Artsakh] citizen who wants to make use of this program. As a result, both the citizen and the state will benefit," Haroutyunyan added, in particular.
