YEREVAN. – I will be appointed Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations. Armen Pambukhchyan, a member of the majority My Step faction who submitted a petition to renounce his parliamentary seat, on Tuesday stated this in a talk with journalists in the National Assembly of Armenia.

When asked why he came to the parliament from the government if he will return there, the MP noted that a revolutionary team was gathering in the parliament after the elections, and he wanted to be a part of the processes in the legislature. "After being here for two years, I have decided that I can provide my services more effectively in the executive [branch of power]. The [My Step] political team has approved, and I am renouncing my [parliamentary] mandate, moving to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as Deputy Minister," Pambukhchyan said.

He added that the work in the executive branch is more typical of his temperament. "I proposed, and my proposal was approved," Armen Pambukhchyan said.
