The amendment regarding the voting age is within the scope of the Professional Commission on Constitutional Reforms since the voting age is prescribed by the Constitution of Armenia. This is what deputy of the My Step faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Hamazasp Danielyan told reporters in parliament today.

“As far as the amendments to the Electoral Code are concerned, the parliament is considering all the components that aren’t directly linked to the work of the Professional Commission on Constitutional Reforms. Therefore, we’re dealing with electoral lists, the election campaign, electoral commissions and the electoral procedure of the National Assembly,” he said.

As far as the amendments to the Law on Political Parties are concerned, the deputy said the package of amendments will be placed into circulation this week, public hearings will be held, after which the amendments will be adopted during the fall session.
